A family of innovators
The name Kundel has been known in the construction industry since the early 1950’s, when Robert Kundel Sr., president of Kundel Industries, worked with his father, Steve Kundel, at Kundel Construction. Having 30 years experience in the excavating business and family roots deeply embedded in construction, Robert Sr started Kundel Industries in the dining room of the Kundel family household. Working with a local engineer, Robert used his background to develop a trench box that was designed around the contractor’s needs; taking into consideration pipe length, excavator capabilities, soil conditions, and contractor usage by re-enforcing areas most common for driving and abuse. In 1987 Kundel Industries forged its way into the trenching industry with the introduction of the original Titan Trench Shield.
The challenge of building a better box taxed Kundel's material movement ability. The numerous sub-assemblies required a constant state of transition, and one large overhead crane was not going to cut it. The larger overhead crane was shut down and a series of parallel runways were hung, along with multiple bridges on each set of runways. These cranes were developed by Kundel Industries’ engineering team by using concepts from ages past, like pendulating runways and articulating bridges. These concepts provided smooth traveling, second to none, and reduced any stress incurred to the supporting structure. Kundel Industries will continue to not only build the best equipment in the industry, but is committed to improving and perfecting the products we produce. It is through this commitment that istrut was developed. istrut was built on the philosophy of structural, modular components to form an unlimited number of configurations, such as work tables and benches, display frames, and overhead cranes, to name a few.
Now, a new generation of the Kundel family has grown up in the industry and become a part of recent advancements in technology that are emerging in the market today. Many young and ambitious people, some with humble beginnings, have joined the family and worked diligently in becoming an integral part of the Kundel team and great leaders of the business today. As a result, Kundel has grown from a meager 2,000 square foot facility to well over 50,000 square feet. The Kundel name has always been synonymous with the best product and best customer service; but what Kundel Industries prides itself most on is its employees. Without their commitment to our customers, we would not have become the company we are today. A company is only as good as its leaders, so we invite you to become a part of our family and build a better tomorrow with the innovative and versatile shielding & shoring product lines of Kundel.

VALUES & PURPOSE
Applying God’s love
We believe in applying God’s love in all that we do. We strive to put God’s love into action by finding ways to serve God, our customers and community. Our products and services are motivated by the desire to help and enhance the lives of our fellow servants.
How can you build better, safer and faster? That is the universal challenge facing all construction contractors and manufactures. Projects are becoming larger and more complex, regulatory restrictions are increasing, but timetables are constantly shrinking in an effort to reduce costs. These constraints result in longer workdays and more fatigue, which increase the challenge of maintaining a safe and productive working environment.
At Kundel, our goal is to design, build and offer production safety equipment and services that enhance the lives of our customers, partners and communities. We strive to be the benchmark for production safety equipment, while building and instilling traditions of Christian vocation, social concern and charity, in an organization that will have an impact for good. We aim to provide an opportunity for present and future employees to take part in a spiritually fulfilling and challenging vocation, where they can continue to perfect their craft and serve.
“Endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.”
“May you be strengthened with all power, according to his glorious might, for all endurance and patience with joy.“
“He existed before all things, and all things are held together in him.”
